Default New 104

I have this 104 and it has low or no compression. Mean while my 127 is in parts, many parts. The engine runs fine off the 127. Will the 12hp bolt right up? I have plenty of toys to cut grass with, just figure the cub is more indestructible for my teenage sun. I'll post more of the 127 later.

I'm going to say yes, yes it will. They're both narrow frames and both K series engines so have at it.

Throw that 12 horse in there and don't look back. Should bolt right in. Good luck!

Thanks to all. I'll try to swap 'em out tomorrow. The PTO clutch probably needs a lot of a attention also and it has no fire. It will aid me in taking my time on the 127. I think it may be the valves I can feel air moving but not pushing and pulling, so something is happening in there.

That's exactly how my 105 sounded. Cleaned the carbon build up off the valves and runs great now.

The 12hp is in. The PTO belt that came with it is too short. When the belt is installed I think it'll cut an acre. The deck number is 421 U 1113.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
