Default 20th yr with the 129

I bought my 129 20 years ago and it runs just as good now as then ,I have had very few problems with it,the only repairs made were normal wear, the pto, tires, tie rods rag joint ,for 15 years of the past 20 it was the only cub I owned. I used it to cut grass plow snow and dirt and tilled with it ,this spring i got out of storage and got it ready to work first wash it then change the oil, filters, lube, sharpen the blades and then mow.

Well of course, what did you expect from an IH cub cadet? If you take care of your equipment, then it will take care of you. Here's to many, many more years of excellent service.

I wish our grass here in Wisconsin would turn green like yours so our cubs could start working! 40 degrees and rain again today! It's getting old!

I like these stories of owning a single tractor, and using it for real work, over an extended period of time. What I tend to think of as the purpose of a tractor in the first place.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
