Hey! How come no body told me which way the cradle mounts to the engine, lol! See in the first page the cradle is on backwards. Corrected that, and pictured the left side of the cleaned up K301 here:
What's what about the electric clutch? My 1250 has one and I was wanting to know if those can be rebuilt...............?

Also, I have a .250" x 2" flat stock piece of steel for the cradle mod. { the cradle measures .237" } I was looking up a ignition switch tonight and part# IH-61524-c3 is called a 4 prong switch fitting a 1250. Looked up the wire diagram and it shows a 5 prong switch like so pictured here:
And the wire mess here shows a 5 prong plug. Are these components correct for a 1250? I'm confused then, by a 4 prong and what I'm looking at thinking its a 5 prong on the tractor.

spark plug should be gaped at .035" .
What gap should I set the points to? I believe I went .020" {battery} I have identified this Kohler K301 to have a Electric Start 15 Amp Regulated Battery Charging System. Kohler Adjustable Jet carb Preliminary Settings: low idle: 2.5 turns high idle: 2 turns

How I figured that out was when I went to make a 8 3/4" x 2" x 1/4" flat steel template for the engine cradle mod. Some thing just was not " lining up-right " , lol! Just cant wait to start this 1250. But until I can fund the 1250 I will be gathering all important information about it. The 72 is the bread winner and comes first

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
