Ok guys, I have a question for you. For the last week or so, when I go across a right sloping hill my 982 quits after about 15-30 seconds. Iv checked for fuel flow(with it on a hill) and it's coming out of the tank just fine. I changed the filter, and I pulled the top off the carb and the float/ needle is working fine and it's very clean. Any ideas?!? I gotta figure this out before RNPD.

I wonder if the float could be binding up when on the hillside. Does it have a return spring?

Hmm, could be, I'll check that tomorrow. It doesn't take a big hill, and I'm worried if I get in a furrow on one of the hills at RNPD it's gonna cut out on me.

Well I drove it on a hill and let it die, pulled the top of the carb off. One side was dry, so all it seemed to need is a float adjustment. Still won't run on as steep of a hill as I would like, but it's better.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
