Default New Guy Here!

Hi Gang,
Nice to meet everyone. I am retired, living in South Lima NY, just south of Rochester NY. I have been collecting Cubs for a little over 2 yrs and happen to think they are the very best garden tractor ever made! I just picked up my second Original. It has a serial #2332 it has the creeper transmission and has the cog belt deck. It runs and moves but the 7hp Kohler is knocking and smoking. The other Original has a serial # 4791 and doesn't run......yet. I hope to include photos of them in another post. I am also the proud owner of a Model 86 which I mow weekly with. Along with the model 86 I have models 100, 102, 104, 122, 124, 126, 782, 1320 and a 1862 with a blown Magnum engine in it.The 1320 is my wife mower. Being a Farmall owner and puller (ret) Cubs just happened to fit right in......lol! I look forward to chatting, asking questions and maybe even answering a few with everyone on here.

Thanks
Rod

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
