Default Finally got my 1864

Been after this one for a while now. Picked it up from a coworker yesterday. Story goes his dad bought 2 of them brand new, this one to mow with and the 2nd had a rear mounted tiller and snowblower. When he passed each of his sons took one. Has 1600 hours but runs really well. He said his dad was a stickler for maintenance and I believe it. Has a 54" deck and a trac vac as you can see. Plastics arent great but I have a spare hood and sides from a 1641 I parted. I already love the power steering.

Thanks guys! I plan to mow with it so I can knock the deck off my 1641 with cat 0 so I can use it to do tractor stuff full time. Tired of r&r'ing the deck to do stuff, the single lift system is quite annoying. The 54" deck needs some love so I'll likely put my 48" on the 1864 until I get it patched up. PO let a friend use it and he hit a metal rod while mowing, and it shot right through the deck! I'm gonna pull the trac vac off and hopefully sell it. The ih caps just might find a new home on my O. BTW a 54" deck will fit on a 60" trailer with about 1.5" to spare

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
