Good Books
The next day two small lightly armored Confederate rams;Chicora and Palmetto State, slipped down past the fort on a misty dawn and took the Federal blockaders by surprise, overpowering the wooden gunboats Mercedita and Keystone State and forcing their captains to strike their flags. Charleston was an open port again. But the day before, Fort Sumter realy took a beating recieving the 11" and 15" solid shot from the moniters as that were the biggest yet on water. But still the iron clads never made it even to the mine and torpedo fields along with nets. Some of the crazy amount of hits were on the Federals who all togeather got off 140 shots, only 30 or 40 hit. Of Beauregard's 2200 shots, about 440 were hits.

Vicksburg had a unbeatable force. Had not Jeb Stuarts cavalry's "Untimely" not being around to inform Vicksburg of enemy where-a-bouts. Those steel Federal gun boats toor up the fort, but was a diffrent go later on. These men charged, fixer bayonents, and just the same cannon battery. There was never no mistake as to what happend there. This book talks of the state in which I was born, and the advents with farmers not willing to go fight, ect. . On a clear summer night up on the bluff, looking out at your army....100 camp fires or more, just on watch. This was no little conflict, like you see at the "Ok Corral", but quite a bit......more.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
