Hydrostatic disconnect?
Was the hydro disconnect a real thing? I've seen mentions of it but never actually seen it.
Edit: Huh... apparently it is. I don't see how you would use the hydrolift with the brake pressed, though. |

Yes it was made up...
On the 1650 it is basically, like wow, putting a clutch from a 1000 on a it.

Mainly it was to make cold starting easier.

That is pretty cool. From the description, it seems as if this is a centrifugal clutch. In my view, I'm seeing something similar to the clutches we see on minibikes. Did I get that right?

Best thing to do is remove that unbalanced pos and leave it in the shop. I pull every one of those off of my diesels.....but then again I'm not trying to start a tractor when it's 20 below 0 either.

Those are for the MTD tractors, IH also had it for at least the Quietlines maybe others. It was just a gear drive clutch installed on a hydro tractor.
