Walnut trees
Ok not the trees themselves but actual walnuts. My yard has a bunch of walnut trees. At least 75% of my trees are walnut.
I need a method of picking them up, so I’m asking those who have a good way to do it. Do you use a trac vac, pull type rake, a rear mount rock- rake( like a blade) or what. I have an old 125 with a trac vac but would have to get both engines running because have ran either in years. Not saying I can’t but if somebody says it’s not going to work then I not going to waste my time. I don’t want to use these nuts for anything but they are taking a toll on my blades.

Not sure how my friend Roger picks them up but here's how he cleans them
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wij0rKyTFsY It works really well. A full bushel goes in and after all the crap comes out, it's only 3/4 full when they go back in the basket. |

My Stihl BR-600 can move them into a pile in no time,,,
but, that depends on how big of an area you are talking about,,, |

They are spread over 2acres. I guess I could try that, but was hoping somebody would say a rake that goes on the rear so I would have an excuse to buy one.

............but I never tried it! Then again, the Billy Goat and the Stihl backpack (BR 600) blowers does the job.

Get some squirrels, they work for free, and they will move them for you.

I have a black Walnut tree in my yard. Just for conversion, it made more walnuts than I have ever seen this year. Literally there were so many, it broke limbs out of it because of the weight, even if it wasn't storming. I've hauled off like 4 bushels, and there are still more.
Anyway.... I give the kids buckets and make them pick them up. Got any kids? |

Mine are concentrated to one area but i use a leaf blower to blow out all the leaves and twigs and then I can walk along easily and scoop them up with an aluminum scoop shovel and load the buckets that are in the NO.2 cart for transport.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
