Deck ID and belt question for 122
I just picked up a 122 with a CC-36 snow thrower and a mower deck. I can't find a tag or stamp to identify the deck and was wondering if anyone can let me know what model it is. I need the PTO belt for the deck and, after some research, believe I need a 3/8x81". There is a spindle belt on there, but I'm not sure if it's the correct one, or routed correctly for that matter (it doesn't go around the rear pulley). Any help to get the deck set up is greatly appreciated!

First, welcome to OCC .......
The model is determined by the "cutting width" of the mower deck. In that series, it could be a 38", 42", or 48". Measure the "cutting width" and advise.

Sorry, I should have put that in the original thread. It's a 48".

It looks like the 1st generation of the 48" deck (48U1111). With that in mind, here is what the Parts Manual says:
PTO Belt: IH-473462-R4 which is 3/8" x 81" Spindle Belt: IH-481099-R2 which is 1/2" x 83"

That's exactly what I was looking for, thanks! Any idea if the belt is suppose to go around that back pulley? I would assume so...the way it's rigged now I'd have a hard time believing it's not going to slip on that main pulley.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
