So I found the problem I think and have replaced the magneto...wired it up and the magnet blew in a fantastic puff of smoke, and a few smaller ones. Anyone know a guy in Kansas City? Lol I am about to pull my hair out 😵

I have the correct Wiring Diagram for your 1015 & serial number range. I will send this to you via the E-Mail address listed in your profile.

I have to say, that it was my understanding all this time, that you had the correct diagram and the tractor was wired correctly.

I thought that I did and the one you sent me was the one I used, but I am going to go over it with a fine tooth comb tonight and try to understand what is wrong with it. And advice about 2 yellow wires coming out of one terminal on the ignition switch M? the diagram only looks like one...or has that been added? The brake switch as the same instance where one of the terminals has 2 yellows coming out of one place...

Thanks for all the help!

YES, both the Ignition Switch and the Brake Switch can have double yellow wires.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
