Here’s my 1440 with 451 that I got last year. We didn’t get any real snowfall last winter, so I finally got to use it yesterday. The 451 chewed through 12” without hesitation, but it does have a propensity to throw belts. Need to get that sorted out. The manual lift on the 1440 got old pretty quickly too. I wouldn’t mind finding a 1641 for parts some day....

Here's my ugly snow moving equipment. By some odd chance I'm not the only person in this thread with an off-colored rig. Also all my snow melted too!

Fair enough, you should both be banned.

Now hold on a second, if I remember correctly, don't you have a JD too? And haven't you posted pictures of it before?
IMO most users probably should be banned for posting pictures of the wrong brand

Off color snow removal equipment...
Ha! Ha! this thread is really becoming quite a laugh!!
Let's face it, most of us probably got interested in tractors many years ago with whatever we had, prior to the discovery of Cub Cadet equipment. To this day, a few of us still have some of those green or orange "left overs" in our collection of machines. Hopefully we will all see fit to transition away from these "inferior" machines, to the more "superior" Cub Cadet machines only. To date, I have restored three Cubs (in the past three years)...one for mowing (1864), one for blowing (1641) and one for showing (Dad's 1641). Once my 1641 snow rig is ready to go, I hope to rid myself of my "off colored" equipment once and for all! (The shovel will go first!) To be honest, I love my Cubs the most, however I enjoy seeing pictures of most anything that has been restored...including all brands of equipment! Keep on showing your stuff...whatever it is! As long as we all know you are putting your best effort into your Cubs, you will be forgiven for all of your past transgressions! |

Don't worry, the cubs will always be top priority on my list. The belt drive in my 110 gives me fits anyways. Sure don't beat the simplicity of the shaft driven narrow frames that's for sure!
We all have those off-colored tractors that may not be of the favorite brand but we still keep around anyway, and there's nothing wrong with that. As much as this is a site full of people who love Cub Cadet, we all have those few machines we like that aren't Cub Cadet. Heck if we banned every person who's ever talked about or posted pictures of a non-cub on this site, the only members who would be left are the ones with 0-10 posts, half of which haven't been active in years

I've got 2 rigs but since I'll be 80 in a couple of months guess which one I'll be using.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
