Nice work! Looks like you found one that, with a little love, is now a great tractor. Deck looks good too!

Deck isn’t in great shape, but it’s mostly sound. Rusted through in a couple of spots that I welded ugly patches in to fix. I figure if I keep it clean, as much as I mow with it it’ll be good for another 10-15 years though.

Ready to blow snow!
Looking forward to the white stuff coming down. Probably ought to get some chains for it. Loaded the tires with 10 gal each of washer fluid, though, and that seemed to make it a lot more stable with that heavy bastard of a blower hanging off the front of it.

very nice, what blower is that?
I picked up a 2084 about a year ago, engine was in the same shape as yours, both head gaskets blown and needed both coils and a fuel pump. PO litterly drove into the grave. you got a much better deal than I did, I paid a little over $400 for mine with no deck or anything. I really like mine, that power steering is awesome. I'm currently doing some "upgrdes?" to mine

Good news is that it's pretty easy to work on. They are pretty awesome machines. I love my 82 series tractors, but it's really hard to not want to use this thing most of the time. I need to take a look at the trunion on this one. That job might wait until spring. Will probably put a set of super braces on it at the same time.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
