Default Newb from KS

Hello all, just purchased a 1641 with around 450 hours for 600.00, it has a 48" deck and snowblade. Will get some photos in the next few days I hope. But my immediate question is how do you mount the mowing deck? Tractor currently has snow blade on it, and need to swap over to mowing deck, not having much luck finding any tutorials. Thank you from Bennington, Ks!

Welcome to the forum.

Take the blade off. The deck undercarraige mounts the same way as the blade, basically. Only, it uses the arms to lift it that are under the tractor. (Instead of a rod.)
The deck is quick mount to the undercarraige.

It's about the easiest system out there, and really very self explanatory. I guess I'm not sure what you would be confused about?

I'd point you to an operators manual, on this site, for an older tractor that mounts the same way, but they seem to be having an impossible time fixing the link to them right now, and they are unavailable.

If you did not see it. There is a release latch in front of tractor. This is to unlock and lock the pins on your blade or deck. Once you release that it might make more sense to you. The deck goes in same way. Read up on mule drive and belt tension tho. Easy to smoke a belt if you dont get it right

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
