Yup.. I use to have a little Michigan. Used it for piling up snow in the yard at the shop.
Mine looked like this. Could not kill that thing.

I betchya there are no rust holes to patch on that tug, lol.

I am pretty sure those wheel loaders and other "Michigan" brand equipment was built in the Benton Harbor, MI plant.
About 20 miles from where the first 40 years of my life were spent.
Clark, Whirlpool and Auto Specialties employed around 20,000 people in the 1950's 60's and 70's.
I think by 1990 they were all closed due to expense of manufacturing in the area.

Google "Clark airborne dozer" for a very small dozer they made during WWII to be parachuted into an area to start an airstrip.

So, we really want this thing to pop. We are thinking this Sunset orange pearl for the color. Then A pearl white for some accents and seat. Besides this we were thinking crome dip everything we can. Chrome dipped wheels with orange bolts, chrome gear shift, pedals, dash parts, chrome caps on bolts on engine etc etc. I just love the way orange, chrome and white go together.. thoughts form anyone on other colors?

I was going to ask if you were going to paint it vintage Cub Cadet colors!
What you described sounds like it would "pop".

My family had a 175 Michigan with a waukesha engine and an 85 with a Cummins c130. My uncle rolled the 85 and trashed the cab, my cousin and I got to run it removing snow after a blizzard for about a week, froze my butt off.

I think those colors would look great. A little bit of purple might look good too.

No cab! Yeah. that will make ya cold pretty quick. You "got to" run it for a week huh? Sounds like Tom Sawyer got you to paint the fence Sid! LOL

Eh.. cold was not the same when we were kids now was it. Running that machine cold or not was probably fun at the time!

Looks good Coop. I’ve worked on quite a few old Tugs and Clark’s at the local airport over the years. Since I’m a forklift guy the small airports pretty much call us to work on them.

I’m seeing what looks like an Impco system on that one? What engine is in it? I’ve seen waukeshas and continentals in the old ones.

Just like a damn forklift though, they cram 10 pounds of poop in a 5 lb box.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
