Default So that wasn't it

Took a moment to look at the 1250 thinking that if it's a safety switch, I have another one.
But for kicks, I sat on the tractor and tried to start it before checking anything. It works. So, it must have something to do with being hot. Isn't that indicative of a coil problem? Anything else? please.

Condenser?? I know condensers will make run erratic but will it keep you from running? Maybe

But yes. could be coil

If the coil goes bad when it is hot, the engine will still roll over when the starter is engaged. It just won't start due to lack of spark.

Had to go back and look. Roland is correct. You had a crank issue last time right?

I had a similar issue with my 149, the switch spring had broken almost all of the way and would sometimes have enough to push the button. It would not work because it was broken, but somehow did until I fixed it.

If it came back on it's own, I'd say you have a bad connection. Check the starting circuit over.

My 1912 has done this since I got it. I traced and retraced wires after it started this crap, and I just happened to mess with the switch on the right side (it has two PTO switches) while turning the key, and it cranked. This only happens after running the engine with the PTO on. If I jiggle it while turning the key and it starts, and I run it without turning the PTO on, it will start up again later without the jiggle method.

Not trying to steal the thread here, just agreeing that could be the issue with an explanation of my experience with a similar issue.
