Alvy you're close on your Jamestown to Alfred drive but I bet it closer to 2 hours. I made the drive to Alfred many times during the college years. I had a good friend that went to Alfred Tech for diesel repair. I used to drive out and party on weekends. Jamestown to my place in Horseheads is just 4 hours, plus the 4 1/2 to the Hudson Valley would make and East - West trip across NY better than 9 hours total.

Anyway, Hearing crickets from Mr. P so he might not be a fan but you never know what else might come with it. As I and others say, “if it’s free it’s for me” it does look nice though and garage kept.

Those model Sears were stout little tractors.. 6 speed tranny, great steering and and peice of equipment imaginable available for it at one time.. That is the other garden tractor that I cut my teeth on! It's got at least part of the three point on it, looks to be garage kept.. might even be a cultivator or harrow lurking around with it!.. If I were within 100 miles i'd be all over it! Like I need another garden tractor!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
