Thank you for the kind words, guys! I'll get some pictures when this rain stops and I can get them out of the barn. It started out with a 2082 w/ a 50" deck. I mowed with it and fell in love with it. What a great tractor and what a wonderful cut with the 50" deck! Then I found an 1882 w/ a 50" deck. Then I got a 450 snowblower and I used the 1882 to clear my driveway and it worked just as good as a snow removal rig as it does mowing. Then over the Summer I got a nice low hour 2084 w/ a 60" Haban deck and that cut my mowing time down substantially, and WOW, that cuts just as nice, if not better than the 50" deck, but it's built MUCH more stout! Then I got a 2182 w/ a 60" deck and a 451 snowblower. I think I'm going to give my dad the 2182 and keep the 2084 for myself. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
