Default A Newbee from New Hampshire

Hello all! My name is Erik, I recently purchased my first cub cadet 100(I think). I have been wanting one for quite some time now. I have been looking over your site for a while, trying to learn new things, and foster my new hobby! I live in the northern reaches of New Hampshire and plan on mowing, moving wood and throwing snow (LOTS, AND LOTS) with my new toy. Thanks-Erik

Erik

It looks like you have a 71. It has the low tunnel cover and the 1x2/3 grill and hood. Post your serial number and that will help us figure it out. Look at the engine tag as well someone might have put a 10HP K301 in it. The 100 is the only low tunnel cover 10HP tractor but like I posted above you have a diffrent hood and grill casting. Could be like one of my 100's and have the wrong hood and grill casting on it. Long story but post your serial number and we'll figure it out.

Thanks for the pics too! I would remove the rear hitch ball set up if it was mine.

...Funny you say that, I pulled it into my garage with the quad, long story short, that hitch is gone, and the cadet just missed the neighbors porch!!

Welcome Erik. Enjoy your new hobby/tool/toy. You'll be amazed at how many tasks you'll look for that "need" a tractor now!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
