OP...here is a link to the parts manual. http://www.mymowerparts.com/pdf/Cub-...s/Series-3000/ Yep, that little pedal on the left side is the differential lock.

Just goes to show ya !
Oh my gosh ! I did not even notice it ! WOW ! ( dah ! )
I bought this thing last fall at an auction. I started it drove it onto my trailer. By the time I got it home and off the trailer I noticed an engine oil leak on the sump oil pan. I stuck it in the shed and just got it out now and started to pull it apart. I never even noticed the diff lock pedal. Probably because it was under dirt and grass. My plan is to bring her back to life. I would first like to get a used cat. 0 3 point set up for it, and anything and everything else I can find for attachments. I live in MN so a 2 stage snowblower would be nice. Does anyone know if they built a solid cab for this unit ? As always thanks for everyone's help. |

You need a dual hydraulic ( two levers on the left by the seat) the blower does not lift with the same cylinder as the deck and there will be a set of outlets under your left foot. Also a bracket that replaces the bumper that the blower hooks to. I don’t know if yours has this or not I’m just telling you.

Yes Sims made/ makes a hard cab for it. The 2 stage snow blower is still available new from Cub Cadet and the front quick hitch and 54" blade are available on eBay. You'll have to search or buy the individual parts for the hyd kit or kits depending on if you want 2, 3 or 4 hyd circuits. One of my 3000 series tractors has the larger version of the Sims cab on it.

This is the smaller Sims cab, the seat would need to be way forward for it not to hit the rear window. I don't think Sims still makes the large cab anymore.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
