Arrow Parts manuals

I never have luck using cub cadet parts look up. I mean, I don't even know required part numbers to type into the search engine. Sometimes I don't even know the correct name of a item in question. Of all the wonderful manuals we have here, how about having parts manuals for the garden tractors ?

Is there a way to obtain these manuals? If I have to buy the parts manual I need, I don't mind in the least to share with OCC, and then I can send it to your address for scanning and shelving in the tec section. Tell us/me what you think, and why or why not this is possible.

What lead me to asking, is that I'm trying to find out what spring goes to the brake return lever on a narrow frame gear drive IH Cub Cadet. Along with what should fasten the choke control cable to the choke control cable mount/bracket on a Kohler K241 air cooled engine with Carter model N carburetor.

Thanks, John

This is the one I use:
http://www.cubcadet.com/webapp/wcs/s...101&langId=-1#
Under Find Parts by Model
Click on select-new drop down willl come up
Click on Garden Tractor-new drop down willl come up
Click on select-new drop down willl come up
Click on model number you want to look at (I click on 71)
Click on select-new drop down willl come up
Spring can be found under Brakes and Connections
The spring is number 12
Look at the chart under the picture and you will find it is part number IH-370278-R1

Another way is to go to Binder Books (http:www.binderbooks.com/manuals.htm)
to purchase a manual. You can get almost any IH Cub Cadet manual for you Cub Cadet.

The choke cable bracket is a Kohler part. You can go to this site to find the part you need:
www.kohlerplus.com/login.asp
Click on enter as a guest. Them select the engine family you are working on. You should have Model-Spec-Serial numbers before you go to this site.
Follow the windows and you should be able to find the correct page you need for part number. The part number for my 149 is A-236919-S. It is called Choke Assembly Bracket.

You used to be able to go to a store that sells Kohler parts and get a parts manual for your K series engine.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
