Default 50" Deck

Thanks for all the reply's. I looked at the number yesterday using a magnifying glass. It definitely reads 501. It is not a scratch. Took a picture this morning but it did not show as well as I would have liked. So the belt I need is IH-59971? Sure don't want to buy the wrong belt. Thanks for all the help and have a great day.
Bob

Hmmm....

So,.. That would make this a Model 50 deck? Larger center drive pulley,..as opposed to the Model 50A deck,.. smaller "speed up pulley"? Yeah, yeah Roland I know... "there's no such thing as a speed up pulley"

OK, so larger pulley, Model 50 = longer belt (80")

smaller pulley, Model 50A = shorter belt (78")

IDK Mr Bob, Hopefully someone with more knowledge on these things will correct me but I gotsta get back to cleaning my spark plugs.

Good luck!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
