122 and 126 deck
Will a 42” deck from a 126 fit a 122? I have a 126 with a blown motor and There’s a 122 runner with a bad deck near me. My 126 has a 42-1 114 deck. Will it fit if I get the 122?
Looked but couldn’t find a good cross-reference. Thanks. Jbo_c |

Yes It will fit, you can use the donkey drive from the 126 on the 122 also.
You will have to remove the older style donkey drive from the from the 122. Belts sizes are here in the tec. section Here is my 122 with one on it. Hee Haww

Pin the deck on the donkey? Wait, pin on deck and the donkey? Hold on, I got it now, QA donkey and the deck.
Btw you’re also going to have to bolt the donkey on the 122 as Franks bolts are not present. LP why does it look like you have a 2 by 4 on your clutch pedal?

The banter is cool, but I’m a little confused. Is it a direct fit or will I have to use pieces of both to make it fit? Are there pieces I’ll need that aren’t on either one? I’ll pass if I can’t make it work with just the parts on the two of them.
Thanks for the quick responses. Jbo |

Good explanation Mr Alvy, I like the pin the deck on the donkey analogy.

Thanks. That makes good sense.
Now, though. I’m wondering if it might be almost as easy to just swap the engines. . . Jbo |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
