That's why I don't buy parts tractors. But he could buy the 73 take off the fenders for his 70 and then buy fenders for the 73.

Guys, guys, not to worry! The 7hp motor from the 70 will go in the 73 and it would still live it's life as a 73, only fenderless. The 70 would turn into a 100 with the 10 hp motor and have fenders. There will be no parting out. If anything I would dress up the 73 and turn it. Tomorrow should tell the tale. I really appreciate all the feedback.

mstetar - I'm not 100% so don't let me keep you from buying. I emailed the guy and got some additional info, but I'm still deciding. I actually have a TC 50 cal Hawken up for sale that I was hoping to fund the tractor with.

Well, I feel like I'm in high school again, taking my girlfriend to the dance. Then another interesting girl that may be a little prettier comes along, and BAM, no dance for me!

Last nite, as I was surfing craigslist for the phone number on the 73, I came across another, seemingly better deal, but it was 2.5 hours away. The ad has been removed already, I'm sure he was getting a lot of calls. It was a 123, with an electric lift already restored, according to the seller. In addition there was a 70/100 with fenders that was said to run but the clutch wouldn't engage. There was also another hydro 123 that the motor was out of, but included in the deal. All for $500! By the time I contacted this cat, they had just sold, and then I got an email from the 73 shortly after that it also was sold. Oh well, wasn't meant to be. Hopefully someone here got all 4 of them.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
