Brake cleaner will strip paint.

You're a farm boy.... don't you guys have a power washer?? Heated is best, no need for degreasers.

Pressure washer even with no chemicals would be the best way to start. No matter what if you clean it well you will lose some paint here and there. Theres bound to be some loose or already flaking paint on that tractor.

We do, but the hoses leak badly. I think it needs a few other things, too.

The original paint or aftermarket paint? If both I guess I'll just use alcohol or something along those lines.

Surprisingly, even to me, the tractor has fairly little flaking paint. My guess is that the only repainted things are the frame, fenders (not fully painted), and the grille casting. The grille casting is the worst rust spot, despite being painted.

I use a zep product . It’s a power that I put in a pump sprayer and it cleans all the grease and dirt off in one shot no scrub just apply and let it sit

Light duty degreaser diluted down so it wont strip paint and a heated pressure washer will do wonders.. the hot water is what gets all the grease and grime residue!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
