Default 125 cobbling

Started checking out my latest purchased 125,thought I'd share some of the previous owners handi work ! Weld repair and additional set collar on the back of the basket pulley, fine looking crankshaft fit for the pto & I've never seen a pto assembled that way ? Told me he hadn't had the deck on it for 10 years or so, wonder why ? Still a nice 125 for the price ,just a little extra work needed!

pic doesn't show it but crank is ground down way undersized, looks like they took a grinding wheel to it ! Cheaper to find another crank than repair this one.

Can ya make up a bushing on a lathe? If the engine runs well I think I would go that route.

Can't make a bushing,no lathe, still would need to cut crank and true up to some uniform size to make bushing fit ? Would need to pull crank to have new keyway cut, work either way I suppose, I have a spare engine and likely will make one good one out of the two ! This one runs good, no smoke but has an internal problem with the gov so I need to open it up to fix that issue, reset gov a couple times to be sure, must be a broken gov or weight off or something , no resistance on the gov arm when running ,looked at everything external I could think off so I'll get the spare up and running ( not sure of it's condition ) or fix this one !

True the crank up just start the engine and hold a flat file to it👍🏻 Then try a bushing. I make a lot of stuff on a poor mans lathe lol! Let’s see some Picts of the 125 when ya can!

The file method will not produce anything remotely near true, especially bouncing on the keyway flat every revolution.
Swap cranks or look on the internet sites like evil pray for a good used one.
I've done some shady repairs in a pinch to keep equipment going, but there is a limit, no offence to anyone.

I've Macgyvered some things myself to get by , but this crank would need welded up and remachined to be right, easier and less costly to replace !This tractor was purchased to flip so I need to make it right before selling ! don't want someone to else to inherit this mess !

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
