Default What front wheel bearings are these?

Hi All, I tried to drive the wheel bearings out from the other side with a hanner and old socket extension and neither would budge. Also they dont look like ball bearings or they are frozen. Are there some wheels that have bushings? Should prob just get a better set of wheels anyway but may learn something by posting.

Also, this axle is bent (wheel rim touches the axle at the top) can it be bent back? I have acetylene just not sure if that's kosher...

Thanks for any thoughts...

Likely just rusted in there real good. I use a large metal punch with a 3 lb maul l usually does the trick.

You can attempt to bend the spindle back yes. But I would plan on replacing it sooner than later

You make no mention of the model of tractor you are working on. With the exception of the Original, all other models had Ball Bearings.

As mentioned previous, knock them out. If you want, try some PB Blaster on the area prior, and let that penetrate a bit.

1964 Model 100. Which brings a question, were the wheel axle hole sizes the same for all narrow frames?

From the 70/100 series until the mid point of the Quietlines, yes, they were all the same.

Your axle or wheel is bent? Looks like in the picture its your wheel. And if so, when you straighten it with heat those bearings will probably just about fall out.

I'm not sure , but it looks like the wheel might not be correct . maybe the offset is wrong. can you post pics. of both sides not so close to show the whole rim. and one straight on at the end of the bearing hole.

Looks like he thinks the knuckle is bent, not the axle.
The knuckles are supposed to be bent like that.
How much if any on the example pictured is hard to tell w/o a hands on exam.
I agree, the wheel looks suspicious, more like junk.
He was lucky to get the wheel off the knuckle.
I have several that are completely frozen, bearings wheel and all to the knuckles.
Sad the way these fine little machines were used, abused, discarded and left to rot.

It's definately the spindel, wheel has maybe 3/8" runout too when I turn it but at the farthest its still tilted in at the top almost touchin.

I guess time to search for some clean straight narrow front wheels (and could use one narrow rear), and a spindle. And a steering wheel shaft. And a hood that's not dented. And a real cub cadet choke control. Plus about 50 other parts! time for a parts tractor(s)? Is this how it starts? are wives usually cool with all this?

looks like the wrong rim or it's on inside out.]Is the other side that close as well?

Is the valve stem on the outside when you install the rim?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
