Man that’s exactly what I was thinking. I kept saying for some reason I know that one. It’s the rear tires that gave it away. Congrats!!

Default Mounting knobs

Going to get started on the 82 Series style driveline, set the engine back into the frame to make sure I get my measurements correct for drilling, then on to rattle can painting of the engine, and a few odds and ends cosmetically.

More to come.........
Where did you get the side panel mounting knobs? Looks like they would work better than the wing screws

Riley, Alvy, thank you! I had hand sanded that tractor down to a shining steel, every part. Quality paint, lots of expensive parts, and a professional engine rebuild. Failed the paint job because I sprayed the paint way too thick on the body. The picture dates back maybe 3 years ago. There was at least 10” of snow and it was very cold. But the 4 link chains gave excellent bite and powered right through and around the property line, no sweat!

I got those from OCC sponsor CC Specialties. I’m sure there are other places that have them, maybe your favorite hardware store over in the hardware section. I’m going to get some stuff done with this 1450. Be prepared 😂

Thanks! I’m working on a 1650. I skimmed through thread and saw this and thought it was a great idea. I look forward to more of your posts.

Hey! Yes I still have that 1450! I have a 38 inch mower on it. Runs super lol! I'm glad you still have the 71, I often wonder what became of it. Funny how life changes, but I'm still around a few cub cadets lol. I'm looking for a real solid dash tower for a 124 as mine is rusted bad. Stick around here lol!

i need a dash tower for my pop pops 71 too. i have one but it's not in the best of shape but it will do.

Built a shed to store the cub cadets in 2017. had to move home to take care of my mom after my dad passed away, went from 3,000 square foot to 400 square foot of storage, some cubs had to sit outside but the 71, 72 and 123 got stored, then a few months later my uncle passed away and we had to clean his estate so the cubs got covered up. 2017-2020 were saving the house from falling apart and building a new garage. This year cleaning up and getting the cubs sorted out. my dad left me a 2146 that i mow the grass with, he got it new in 2002.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
