Replace or Rebuild?
Not sure where to put this topic - so moderators please move it to the appropriate area if I've got off the path - thanks!
When I think of cast iron block engines, like a Kohler K series or Magnum single cylinder engine, it seems like a no brainer (for me) that when the engine is tired, do a rebuild. The cast iron block lends itself well for this IMHO. However, once you get into twin cylinder engines (or single cylinde) aluminum block engines, the choice is not so clear. I don't see a lot of posts regarding reboring a twin cylinder engine and doing a rebuild. Heck, I get irritated just trying to remove the tins from some of these aluminum block twin cylinder engines as the screws seem to gall and I've snapped a few off! Soooo, what do you recommend with regard to twin cylinder engines, be they Kohler, Briggs or Onan, rebuild or repower? Thanks! Bill

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
