Hmm, don't recall seeing that. Nothing between the tank and the carb other than the pump. And now a filter.

So, there is no fuel shutoff with screen attached to your tank? 1811 is suppose to have it. The screen could be getting clogged. the valve...

yes it has that. I pulled the tank off and cleaned all of that at the onset of my issue. All good there. Tank, shutoff and screen were all spotless.

Did you change carbs? Or was that what you were going to try next? Change carbs and same issue?

I'm gonna swap carbs and see if the problem goes away. If it does, then I'm gonna clean that "Waldo" and try it again.

If I can't get the original Walbro working right I may end up switching it out with the older Carter style carb. Hopefully won't have to do that though. I do like the Carters better due to the fact that you can completely disassemble and clean the components, not to mention the fact that they are more adjustable. Someone said a #27 Carter would work on my M18, someone else said a #26?? Anyone know which is correct? Have seen a #26, have a #30 on my K361, never heard of a #27 though.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
