New from Florida
I just purchased my first cub cadet ever. A very well-maintained 129 in perfect working order. I'm looking forward to get to learn more about these and restore this one as best as I can.
Before and after a good rinsing off. |

Yes both of our boys love it. I am happy to be here and extremely happy with our new Cub. I am amazed on how these were built and still run better than new models. The only thing done to this was the rings and it runs like a top now. I will be looking for rear tires and a muffler, both are original and have seen better days. Any tips or suggestions are always welcome. Thank for the welcome guys.

Hi Swampy! Welcome to the board! You have a sharp looking tractor there and a great way to spend quality time with your boys. OCC has a great deal of knowledgeable people willing to help you with any questions. Look in the resources area of this forum for several listings of parts and tire vendors. Ask questions and post pictures, and again welcome!

Welcome!! Very nice find on the 129! Take care of it and it will last you and your kids for a lifetime... My dad hooked me on Cub Cadets when I was a kid in the 70's.. I am still hooked! I am still convinced the IH built the absolute best Garden tractor of anyone past or present...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
