New from Colorado
Howdy Y'all!
New member from Colorado Springs area. I currently have 2.5 Originals. Long story, but had parts of 1 given to me at a tractor show in NO CO late last year as a project for me and my son. Found a complete non-running Original in NE to use as a parts/donor for the rebuild. That is still ongoing. This past weekend, while at a consignment auction, I picked up a 3rd Original. This one is running and driveable. Has a few minor things I need to fix/clean, but overall it's good to go. I haven't pulled the numbers to find out which years the 3 tractors are, but that's on my to do list. Glad to find a place to get some help and reference as I do these restorations. Not completely new to tractors, have a few green tractors in the warehouse. Dad just bought a 47 8N. Zach |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
