Thumbs up Just a few questions!

I found my Uncle's old 129 sitting in the woods! I would like to bring it back to live! It is a little rough but the engine is lose.
I now know the starter generator is working! After watching a youtube video on how to op ck it.
The coil is missing so I assume it is a 12 volt coil?
The starter generator is a 12 volt system but needs a voltage regulator since it is not built in correct?
Is there a way to verify that the voltage regulator is working? It looking like the original or 20 years in the woods does that to them!
Solenoid switch looks like a mud dauber made it a home! I am not sure if it works been 20 years!
So far looks like a generator belt, transmission fan, coil, and tune-up kit only things on the shopping list right now!

Coil has to be the right kind, not one from a car.
Get the engine running first then worry about the rest.

12 volt internally resisted cylinder coil. There were a couple cars that had it but I don't remember the make and models..

Sorry, I should have just said make sure to use a coil made for this application.
Just didn't want a new person throwing any old 12v coil on.

Coil must have proper OHM rating. Just internally resisted isn't enough. 3.5 or 4 ohm, IIRC.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
