Default About those weights...

Hey Tom,
I'd hold onto those weights if your thinking about plowing with the Brinley. The new tires you've got look sweet and would be my first choice with some weights for plowing. Lots of folks use turfs with chains and weights too. So, I guess until you get ready to actually dial in the tractor and plow, I'd stash 'em under the workbench.
Just my 2 cents,
Jim

Default hood trimming

I measured twice and cut once like they say, and I'll be darned, it worked.. The po had installed a light ON the hood, see the 2 holes next to the ornament. And unfortunately, the hole were the toggle switch had been mounted near the rear of the hood didn't make the "cut". I'll be welding those up when I have the MIG fired up. I'll be using it to build the headlight panel. The 107 panel was damaged, so I'm using the chrome surrounds on a home made panel to fit the 123 grill.

Default seat repair

The seat was damaged from, well some one that's pretty ,,,,,um big. Just to be fair, I am 6'3", 260lbs, so I know of what I speak. Any how, I needed to repair this area and get a couple more decades out of this seat, my daughters gettin married soon, recently, tractor money appears to disappear a little faster some how. I got to combine my two hobbies for this job. I use fiberglass cloth and epoxy on some of my RC air planes. So I mixed up some slow,(30 minute) epoxy, and added 5 layers of medium weight cloth. Should do the trick. The other product there, is "micro-ballons", it is a microscopic hollow filler that makes the resin lighter and easier to sand. I used it to fill and bond the cracked area before the cloth went on.

Default head lice......no that aint right....LIGHTS!

Worked a little on the "1273" front end. Made an 11gauge panel and moved the lights out as far as I could so the 123 style IH would look good between the 1X7 bezels. Unfortunately I'll be having surgery around the holidays. Guess lifting all that cast iron all those times wasn't the smartest thing to do. So the "1273" will just have to be patient.

Lots of narrow frame parts are interchangeable, I have made a couple of changes to a couple different cubs over the years.

A 127 with the hood and nose off a 122.

A 72 with the seat from a 123

and my 100 with the fenders from a 107

Than there where these also

Default Get Well Soon...

MRJeep81

Get well soon - because I know I'm not the only one waiting on more pictures .

I mentioned some time ago to CADPlans that I was tired of the cracked warped plastic on my Super and thought about using a grill and hood from a 154 Lo-Boy and he got me thinking about using a narrow frame grill when he showed me his picture.

I like the look of the 124 that I learned to mow grass on, so I might try to duplicate that. One of the neighbors has an old cub that he's parting out, I'll have to stop sometime see what he wants for the grill.

Anyway, get better.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
