Thoughts on bearings
Need opinions on buying these bearings for the wheels of the 147---
https://www.ebay.com/itm/4-WHEEL-BEA...kAXb:rk:1:pf:0 The price leads me to think they are junk but at the same time the rating is good and many have been sold, so.... What do you think?

You may want to look locally and do the touchy feely thing if you are a little skeptical, otherwise they are a good buy.

I have found that if you can either put a micrometer on an existing bearing, or find out the specs on them, they are usually a very common size that you can find cheaper and better quality. For instance, on my 2182 the front bearings were a common size and I found a much higher quality sealed bearing that was cheaper than the cub ones.

I suppose what happens if I buy 'em and they just fall out or wear out quicker, I'm out 10 bucks. Good idea.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
