Qa36a snow thrower
I have a cub 109 with a Qa36a snowthrower. I purchased the tractor this summer and just love it. With it I also obtained this snowthrower. I have it all hooked up but cannot adjust the tension on the drive belt. My adjusting “butterfly” knob is on the left side of the mount but no matter how far I turn it counter clockwise it is not tightening the belt . Any suggestions as to what my next step might be. This is a great website and have gotten some really helpful info pertaining to my mower deck and replacing the bearings on the auger for the snowthrower so I am back again for help,

Here is a photo of the adjuster. The plate is a fulcrum and moves the front plate up and down to tighten the belt. Do you have the right belt?

The belt came with it from from a seller who is a true true IH and cub collector, I assume it is the right size. My adjuster looks very similar to your picture and it moves the fulcrum but I do not see any movement elsewhere

I Think you loosen the four bolts on the plate, then it will work.
