Default IH windbreaker

Getting the windbreaker on the 982. Needs plexi in the front. Rest is just a matter of cleaning up and straightening up. Raining now and supposed to be all weekend so be a good garage project to get everything perfect with it

Good project for a rainy day.
Will the snow blower get some attention also?

Yes that’s the plan. I don’t think it needs a lot though. I’m not sure I’m even gonna take the auger out just clean the chute up and repack new grease in the gearbox. This cab is cumbersome but straightforward, just trying to preserve the paint I wet sanded and buffed

When I replaced the windshield on the softcab I put on my 125, I purchased a piece of Clear Polycarbonate Sheets and Bars from McMaster Carr

https://www.mcmaster.com/plastics

I also got a piece of poster board ( thin, stiff cardboard) and made a template to figure out cut size of the windshield material.

Awesome, thanks for the heads up. There is no end to the useful things McMaster Carr carries!

Got the cab all cleaned up. Ordered plastic for the windshield (thanks Jeff) I was running it just a bit ago cleaning up the cub graveyard, it’s fun. Getting the big thrower cleaned up for it. I have a 450 and don’t need both, have the 450 listed, I don’t think the chute control will work inside the cab.

Came out nice Rick, any warning lights to be added?

If you fart in one of those it becomes a wind breaker breaker...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
