Linkage looks like it'll work good.
What you going to use for a box? Building one out of wood, steel?... Keep the pictures coming Frank.

Managed only a couple hours of work on this project today. (Set the base cabinets for the wet bar in the family room this morning so they can come template for the granite.)
Back in the shop after lunch for some mundane stuff like any other Cub at this stage. I rebuilt the carburetor, installed the drive shaft with a new cooling fan. (The drive pin was quite tight in the drive shaft and required heat and a BFH to remove.) Based on the wear of the pin, this cub has not had all that much use. The drive shaft appears original, I don't think the drive pin has ever been out or replaced. Had to drill and tap the air cleaner screw holes as the 10-32 threads were stripped out. Went to 12-24 screws. Spent an hour mounting the engine, carb, coil, condenser, choke and throttle cables and setting the governor. Pretty much together. Painted the starter. Next step will be re-installing the fuel system--tank and supply line--and mounting the starter and muffler. I will need to rig up a battery so I can start and run this thing. Pic-a-rama:

Had another thought/question.
This build is a 109 with a 147's rear end added, and a K301 engine. So it is a 129? The serial number is still a 109, so I tend to want to stick with that, regardless of the engine change. If you could put any model number on this, what would you suggest? Thinking beyond the 109 vs. 129 question...It is a 109T? Does it get a 6x4 logo on it? Let your creative ideas flow here! Tell me how YOU would badge it!

I wouldn't put it as 109t cause i automatically thought turbo. Unless your going to turbo it. Maybe like 109 tandem or 409. Just a couple thoughts.

Must be a 6x4 Hydro 244
244 is a result of 147+109-14hp-10hp+12hp = 244 |

My vote is make it a 1029. I like the 6x4 hydro idea too.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
