Well I should be embarrassed to show my face around here since some of these guys knock these things out in weeks or a few months. I'm continuing to post for those of us that get knocked off track easily by work, family and life in general. About a year ago I had a huge career change and life is finally sorting out so I can return to hobbies.

If you've got a Cub half-finished in the garage, never give up!

Slowly working on your own project and doing it the right way is better than tearing into something and having to do it a few times because it was hurriedly done incorrect IMO. It's also better than attempting a restore and then trying to sell a bunch of parts in a pile for way more than they are worth because you gave up on the resto.

I was just pokin' at your ribs about the 4 year comment.

Count me in on the unfinished projects list, I tend to always have time to help others,
but lack time for my own projects.
a Lot of mine have been completed, but a few have been sitting way too long,
and at my age that is not good.

Thank you George. I figured at this point later is better than never. I'm so close now, just paint the sheetmetal and sort the carb.

To me, always having time to help others is about the best thing that can be said about a person. And having read many many posts where you"ve helped someone with a tractor issue, I know it is true.

Thanks folks, but
I'm just one of the many players here on the "team"
We all contribute in some way.
So in the end, feeling good of ones self, is worth an unfinished Rembrandt.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
