125 Front Blade manual lift
Hello All,
Let me first say this site has been very helpful in my endeavors with my little yellow machine. Couple of questions........... Someone posted me a front blade attachment guide (very helpful) the other day and I am still left with a couple of questions. 1) Where the blade subframe goes under the tractor and the forks go on the footrest bar I am encountering on the left side there is something bolted to the bar in the way and it is a rod like piece that goes toward the back and at the back it just looks like a big bolt head to the left of the rear end. So, what is this and what does it do? So I know whether to remove it or not. 2) Does the subframe to the blade click directly into the quick connect ....I mean do the two little ears or pegs that the pins go thru click into the quik slots or does the front attachment that was there in the quik link stay and somehow accomodate the subframe pegs any close up pics? 3) Since I'm asking Do most folks fabricate a lift rod or buy one? Is it gonna be hard to lift the blade up and down manually? Is this setup gonna be an effective way to keep my gravel on my driveway spread out evenly? Sorry So many Questions But I do Thank you all. bobbyjupiter |

#1 - How about posting some pictures of what you are talking about?
#2 - YES, the sub frame front mount pegs goes into the QA slots. #3 - You can do either. For me, it is just as easy to fabricate one. Simply run the tractor up on some 2 x 4 lumber, Place the the blade on the floor (not on the 2 x 4). Measure the distance between Point A and Point B. That is the length of the rod.

Much Obliged
Thanks, that answers some of my questions. I will try to post some pics of tractor and of object that is blocking the place on the footrest support bar that I need. In the mean time how much difference in width are a narrow frame and a wide frame subframe at the QA point?
Thanks Bobby |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
