Default Wanting to upgrade seat on XT1

Has anyone install a suspension type seat on thier riding mower? I have an XT1 I use for alot for moving dirt, leaves, yard trash etc. It's alot of uneven ground, alot of transitions from pavement to dirt. It get tough on the body after a few hrs. I do run agri tires which im leaning towards lower air pressure some to smooth the ride.

I figure some one has tried to mount something different then the stock type seat.

Thanks

I have seen a lot with fold down boat seats, that were comfortable & worked well.

Ag tires tend to have stiffer sidewalls, thus ride harder.
I use 5.5 pounds in my front tires and less in the rear, but it is an old skool 782 Garden tractor, with regular turf tires.
3-4 hours of mowing every week is not all that bad.

Yeah, minus going and getting a several hundred-thousand dollar suspension seat and rigging it on, I'm not sure how much better you'll get than the OEM ones. You can easily add armrests to your seat, and 2022's seat has more cushioning than the previous models (could easily put that on).

I don't know how your seat is mounted, but if flips up, you can put a wheel barrow inner tube under it laid flat, and adjust the pressure to give you a redneck, 1/2 of an air ride seat.

I didn't think of the bass pro boat seat. All good ideas! I'd like something with an armrest. Guess I could look around and find a seat from an upgraded model with arm rests and still retain the seat switch.

I know the agr tires are hard, but the turf savers that were originally on it leaves a lot to be desired for traction. I've retired this from mowing.

Your existing seat is ready for the CC armrest kit. Click the link on the top of this page, go to your tractor, and it'll be on there. The slots hold square nuts captive to fasten it.

2 shoulder bolts in front, 2 springs in back. Not much has changed over the years

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
