If it has the 38" 2 blade timed deck on it, there is no mule drive. The deck mounts using the brackets on it.

I might be using the wrong terminology. what is the piece below the frame at the front with the two vertical pulleys to take the belt from the front pulley on the motor and transfer the direction to horizontal and back to the deck drive pulley. That is what i am hoping will mount onto the 102.

I do not have a deck with the original, just the bracket at the front. The 102 will have a 42" deck. Thank you.

It is my understanding, that the "mule drive" from the Original is different from any other Cub Cadet tractor. With that in mind, I suppose it is possible to retro-fit a Mule Drive from a newer series tractor onto the Original with adaptation and/or modification.

If you are looking for a "Plug & Play" procedure, that is not going to happen,

There's gotta be about a million of those laying around in PA. Give Rich Patton a call.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
