Default Need new choke/throttle cables

I will be needing a new choke cable for my IH Cub Cadet 70 K161 as well as the throttle cable. It was hard to find what I have linked below but the throttle cable is too expensive and the choke cable lot is used, so these specific ads would be my last resort. The choke cable lot is in pretty could condition I guess… I did try the Cub Cadet parts lookup, but that had two problems. Neither item was available any more it said when I pressed “add to cart.” And also the throttle cable was specific to the 100 model even though I was in the 70 AND 100 category. If anyone knows where I can get new choke and throttle cables for my tractor at a reasonable price please let me know.

You can do an Internet search for these:

(1) IH-384882-R91 (or -R92) Throttle Cable
(1) IH-384884-R91 (or -R92) Choke Cable

You may find someone with NOS or good used parts.

I have in the past, purchased inexpensive "Arnold" brand cables at hwd/Tractor supply and fitted them to length for my application. that might be an option for you.
They usually are longer than needed and you custom fit them
Also I see them at vendors at tractor shows

Thanks Ol’George! They all say for push mowers but it should work anyways since it’s a whole 54 inches long.

I've had good luck at CCSpecialties at ccspecialties.org. I've bought many a part from them and have always been happy with their quality and price.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
