The word "NEED" is the operative word. Several of us have lots of cubs that we don't really "NEED", but we like to have them. I have twenty some cubs, one of which is a 72" zero turn diesel that I use to mow less than an acre and a half and I paid close to what your neighbor paid for his Spartan. Did I NEED that mower.......heck no. Am I glad I have it......You bet! It did not cost you a dime for his mower, it is his expense and as long as he is happy.....so be it. No one argues with me when I am at the back of the line paying the bill. Live and let live. Go check out his new mower, compliment him on his selection (if you want), then look at your collection and smile with pride! You can change a lot of things in this world, but not someone's mind. You did your part by assisting him and advising him, but ultimately it is his choice. I hope he gets many years worth of service out of it!

I have never seen/read an opinion better stated.
I'm gonna file this one in my "Gee, wish I'd have said that" file. Well done!

You can change a lot of things in this world, but not someone's mind.

I would not say that is an entirely accurate statement.

Cub Cadet changed my mind On Zero turns. I was dead set against them since I first saw My Great Uncles Dixion In the Late 1970's Until about 2020 Swore I would never own One But the Cub steering wheel Zero turns is what changed My Mind

A design change that improves something to your liking is not the same as an individual talking you into accepting something that you don't like or want.

So did someone coerce you or did you change your own mind?

Changing someone Mind anybody Can do that with Out force or threats which is what Coerce Means

My friend and MTD territory Man took me to see a Zero turn with a steering wheel several years ago and Try it out and he changed My Mind about the zero turns He Persuaded Me a Person who didn't believe In Zero turns. That with the steering wheel. They were decent Machines for Mowing sloped or flat Ground

Coerce is to use force. Perhaps persuade may be a better word. It has been my experience that whenever someone has their mind set on something, not even logic or fine argument can change their mind. If they have not made up their mind or have some doubt or uncertainty, then persuasion and logical reasoning may make them change their mind.

Well, if I couldn't have changed someone's Mind, I would Have Probably Died In December 1989 In Panama along with Most Of My Unit. Changed a Very Stubborn officer's Mind who wanted to follow a very specific route No Matter what. So to say You can't change someone Mind, I find that statement not to be accurate

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
