Default KT17 Series II to M18 wiring changes?

Hi folks, it's been a long time since I've been on OCC.

I have a 1712 (yellow and white 782 with factory front hydraulics) that has a tired KT-17 Series II in it. Recently the mount for the starter broke, so it's time for an engine swap.

I have a good running M18 out of a 1862, that I want to swap in.

I tried to use the search feature, but kept getting kicked out....

Does anyone have a diagram showing the necessary wiring changes needed, to swap the M18 in place of the KT-17?

Thanks!

In addition to the wiring changes, an ignition switch with a path to ground for the magneto kill circuit will be required, 725-3026 or 925-3026.

Yup, that is one way to handle this situation.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
