I dont know to be honest. I had a gentleman come out who does mobile small engine repair. He adjusted the air gap and tested the switch and made sure the PTO was getting power. Adjusted the air gap helped but it would eventually stop again so its just shot. But he said because its so old it might be hard to find the correct PTO clutch. I guess there are more Contemporary models that are also labeled 1250 I think is what he was getting at. I was hoping someone has my exact model and might know a sure thing. When I search for them with my tractor info online I find parts but I really don't want to spend a few hundred dollars for the wrong part. My lawn is becoming a jungle lol!

I went with the Xtreme PTO clutch on my 1200. It's mentioned on this site multiple times. Great quality, its a little pricey though.

Default Thanks everyone

Thanks everyone for all your help and suggestions. I just installed today. I think I need a new mule drive belt and likely deck belt and to adjust tension on mule drive belt, but its nice to see the clutch working again. So thanks again for taking the time to comment! I am grateful! Also shout out to my IRL friend Dan, who gave me a hand.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
