Default RTZ50 Deck Lift issues

Recently had a deck lift cable fail on my RZT50. This resulted in the deck dropping down on the right hand side regardless of how high I attempted to raise it.

Identified the lift cable as failed and ordered replacements online. Replaced the cables but my deck still will not raise on the right hand side. Due to the location is it very difficult to see what is taking place here but I have verified that the cables are properly installed but cannot figure out what else may have been damaged resulting in the deck not raising.

This is on a RZT50 that was purchased from Home Depot probably in the 2006/ 2007 time frame. No other issues, it runs like a dream.

Any advice is appreciated.

First, welcome to OCC........

In going to the Cub Cadet parts lookup site, it says "RZT50" does not exist.

Thanks,

I fat fingered the keyboard and originally typed RTZ50 but this is a RZT 50 with the 50" mowing deck.

This is the assembly: https://www.cubcadet.com/en_US/conte...14662162a409/y

I replaced item 38 as shown but cannot get that side of the deck to raise now. The opposite side raises but this side continues to sit on the ground.

The Parts Diagram indicates two cables needed, but only illustrates one. I am assuming there is a cable for both RH & LH sides of the deck.

Yes, I replaced them both as I assumed the other was worn as well.

Both cables then are connected between the "rocker shaft" (Deck Lift Shaft) and the deck lift arms. Maybe one of the deck lift arms is broken, or a hinge bolt is missing/broken??

I wish it were but the deck lift arms are fine as are the bolts. There has to be something else I am not seeing. I've taken the deck off again and moved the lift arms via the handle and do see them both moving up and down just the right one moves a lot less. I have put pressure on them to see if they move independently but they do not.

With the deck reinstalled the right side moves slightly in the rear (gets maybe an inch off the ground) but the right front remains on the ground while the left side raises 4-5 inches front and back.

I wish I could help you more, but I can't see anything from my PC. It is obvious, that something isn't right, just can't see.

Thanks. This issue is really driving me nuts but I have not been able to find any solutions yet.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
