I'd keep the 982.

The 982 with attachments should be worth $3500 to $4000 but I don't know if you would get that as a package deal.

The 169 with FEL is probably worth $3k maybe a little more. What month was this machine built?

1650 is probably worth $1500.

Another vote here for the 982. Aside of the collector aspect I’ve never been a big fan of loaders on small, lighter tractors, but that’s just me. There is no substitute for the size of the 982, the more I run my supers the better I like them.

I agree, the loader on the 169 is somewhat of a novelty although they do work well for small projects such as moving snow/dirt/gravel, and they were popular for cleaning out stalls in barns. I have used it to lift a RV generator that weighed 300 pounds and it worked well although with that much weight on it you can only steer while moving. One thing about loaders on Cubs, they sure have that "Wow Factor" and draw a lot of attention, especially when displayed at collector shows.

I am presently checking in to see where it was at in production by the serial number. The hour meter shows around 291 hours although I cannot verify that it is true hours although the normal signs of where they wear are minimal and the seat is still the original.

Personally, I would just sell the 1650 and keep the 982 and 169. My vote though is another one for the 982.

Thanks to all your replies, I believe I will keep the 982 and sell both the 169 and 1650. With that said, I want to give you fellow members here first opportunity on them before listing elsewhere.

Thank you all for your input! I needed the guidance and assurance you provided.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
