Ha! I will have to remember that one! These are great responses, and now I don't feel so foolish spending money keeping this old machine alive.

Thumbs up

You should never feel foolish keeping these vintage machines alive. They are a part of history, and have stood the test of time. Once you have owned and used them, the newer stuff is trash on many levels.

And when a nuke gets exploded in the atmosphere and fries all the vehicles with electronic boards, you’ll still be able to cut your lawn..

Default Add a winch.

My acre is on a rocky hillside. I have three different trailers that I pull with my SGT to do work around the yard. This week I'll be distributing wood mulch around the lot to cover bare spots and control erosion.
I recently added a small winch $50 @ HF) to the front mule drive bracket. I have used it to move deadfall trees, large rocks and to lift a heavy hinged deck section for spa access.
I also use a box blade for dirt moving. I have a disc harrow for gardening and landscaping.

Well, my excuse is look at the other people's collections, my collection isn't so bad or it used to be my excuse! Don't think she buys that anymore

I have 1 zero turn, 2 rear engine riders, 1 Lawn tractor, 14 Garden tractors and 1 Compact tractor for a Total of 19 riding Machines. I am not done yet!!! About 5 are Just trailer queens and 7 total are stored offsite at two other Locations So about 12 machines do get used on a regular bases. Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
