Default Cub Cadet Original Rotary Mower Deck Problem

I see on one mounting block for the blades for my original's mower deck, it is loose and wobbly, I also noticed that the other mounting block, it is tight and isnt wobbly, I also noticed too that the other one has some kind of cap on the top while the woobly one doesnt. In fact theres a threaded hole in the middle of it filled with grease. Does anyone know what goes here? I've looked at blow up diagrams of the deck and still cant figure out what goes there. Any help would be much appreciated!

I have the original Parts Manual (TC-82) for the CCO, and it does not show how block it mounted to the shaft, other than a 1/4" x 1/4" X 1/2" Square Key.

I don't own an Original. Our members that own Originals, should chime in.

The spindle shaft is threaded into the blade block and a key is place in from the bearing side before the spindle is put in the housing. I’ve never had one apart, so I don’t know a lot about them. You MIGHT be able to just replace the key and reassembled it, but the only way to know is to take it apart and assess how much damage is done. The hole in the bottom of the shaft leads me to believe the shaft is installed upside down, does it have a grease fitting on top? Check PDF page 17 in this manual... https://s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/c...Timed+Deck.pdf

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
